Château de Versailles – Drying out the stables
In 2021, BFL® International was chosen to work on one of the world’s most iconic heritage sites: the Château de Versailles. The estate’s stables had a major problem with rising damp. Despite their exceptional thickness of 1.50 metres, the walls suffered from capillary action that threatened their preservation. To meet this challenge, our teams installed an I.P.E® 62 device, specially adapted for massive structures and historic monuments.
Results achieved
In less than 9 months, the device completely dried out the walls, putting an end to rising damp and ensuring the long-term preservation of this unique heritage site.
